2024 MSFA All-Mideast League Team Annnounced
Following up their third consecutive MSFA championship, Indiana Wesleyan dominated the MSFA All-Mideast League Team with 17 First Team selections, as the conference awards were announced on Monday.
The Wildcats saw eight First Team selections on offense, including the Mideast League Offensive Player of the Year in wideout Isaac Smith. Averaging 86.2 receiving yards per game, Smith led the Mideast League with more than 20 yards per game over any other receiver in the league. The junior collected 13 touchdown catches on the year, good for 5th-most nationally in the NAIA.
On the other side of the ball, six Wildcats were named First Team honorees on defense. Senior linebacker Clayton Mosher was selected as the Mideast League's Defensive Player of the Year, and enters the NAIA Football Championship Series this week with 75 tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss, and four sacks.
Concordia had the second-most First Team selections, with nine. Taylor saw three players earn First Team honors, highlighted by junior Jonathan Grubbs earning the Mideast League Offensive Lineman of the Year award.
Taylor head coach Aaron Mingo was named the Mideast League's Coach of the Year after guiding the Trojans to seven-win turnaround from last season, matching the largest single-year turnaround in all divisions of college football and recording the first nine-win season for Taylor since their MSFA championship campaign of 1999. Concordia's co-Defensive Coordinator and Special Teams Coordinator Matt Strzalkowski was named the Mideast League Assistant Coach of the Year.
