2024 MSFA All-Midwest League Team Announced
In their first season as members of the Midwest League, co-champions Marian and Saint Francis (Ind.) picked up 14 First Team selections, as the 2024 MSFA All-Midwest League Teams were announced on Monday.
The Knights claimed a league-high nine spots on the First Team, including five on offense, including the Midwest League Offensive Lineman of the Year, Zach Sibila. Saint Francis placed a total of five Cougars on the First Team, highlighted by the Midwest League Defensive Player of the Year, Marquise Cross.
Cross heads into the NAIA Football Championship Series this weekend with 7.5 sacks, third-most in the Midwest League, and 13.5 tackles for loss out of a total of 40 tackles on the season.
On the other side of the ball, St. Francis (Ill.) quarterback Sam Tumilty was selected as the Midwest League Offensive Player of the Year for the second time in three seasons. Tumilty ranked 4th in the Midwest League in passing, with 217.1 yards per game, but was also the league's second-leading rusher, with 86 yards per game and an MSFA-high 23 rushing touchdowns – third-most nationally in the NAIA this year.
Saint Francis (Ind.) head coach Kevin Donley was named the Midwest League's Coach of the Year after guiding the Cougars to an MSFA-record extending 14th conference title. Offensive Coordinator Adam Sherman was selected as the Midwest League Assistant Coach of the Year.
