IWU, TU take Mideast League honors

A dominant win for the league leaders and a strong defensive effort in Taylor's victory highlights the Mideast League Players of the Week.

Offensive Player of the Week
Roosevelt Cage, Indiana Wesleyan
Jr., RB, Burnsville, Minn. (N.D. State College of Science)

  • Rushed for 222 yards on 28 carries in #3 IWU's 48-24 win over Concordia
  • Recorded three rushing TDs in the win
  • Wins his first career MSFA Player of the Week award

Defensive Player of the Week
Jeremiah Mansfield, Taylor
Sr., DL, Caledonia, Mich. (Caledonia)

  • Finished with six tackles in the Trojans' 63-12 win over Defiance
  • Tallied three and a half sacks, and recovered a fumble against the Yellow Jackets
  • Earns his first career MSFA Player of the Week honor

Special Teams Player of the Week
Josh Clifton, Indiana Wesleyan
So., K/P, Bradley, Ill. (Bradley-Bourbonnais)

  • Scored 12 points in the Wildcats' 48-24 win over Concordia
  • Was a perfect 6-for-6 on extra point attempts, and converted both field goal tries
  • Takes his fourth MSFA Player of the Week honor this year, and the fifth of his career
