Record-setting performance highlights Mideast League weekly honors

Featuring in part a seven-touchdown afternoon, Taylor and Indiana Wesleyan are recognized in this week's Mideast League Player of the Week awards

Offensive Player of the Week
Jameson Chesser, Taylor
Jr., RB, Adrian, Mich. (Lenawee Christian)

  • Recorded an MSFA-record seven rushing TDs in Taylor's 58-36 win over Saint Francis (Ind.)
  • Rushed for 143 yards on 26 carries in the win
  • Earns his second MSFA Offensive Player of the Week award this season

Defensive Player of the Week
Aven Jones, Taylor
Sr., LB, New Palestine, Ind. (New Palestine)

  • Finished with 17 tackles in Taylor's 58-36 win over the Cougars
  • Had one sack and forced two fumbles on the day
  • Earns his second straight MSFA Defensive Player of the Week award, fourth of the season, and sixth of his career 

Special Teams Player of the Week
Josh Clifton, Indiana Wesleyan
So., K/P, Bradley, Ill. (Bradley-Bourbonnais)

  • Scored 13 points in No. 4 Indiana Wesleyan's 39-7 win over No. 13 Saint Xavier
  • Went 3-for-4 on field goal attempts, including a long of 33 yards
  • Earns his second MSFA Special Teams Player of the Week award this season
