Three first-time recipients earn Mideast League Player of the Week honors
Leading their respective teams to road wins last Saturday, three first-time honorees take home the Mideast League Player of the Week awards.
Offensive Player of the Week
Jehlani Warren, Defiance
Sr., QB, Palmetto, Calif. (Cypress Creek HS)
- Threw for 166 yards and rushed for 135 as the Yellow Jackets won their first game as MSFA members, 38-20 over Judson
- Finished the day with two passing TDs and three rushing TDs against the Eagles
- Earns his first career MSFA Offensive Player of the Week award
Defensive Player of the Week
Da'Veon Turner, Indiana Wesleyan
Jr., DB, Detroit, Mich. (Northwood [Mich.])
- Grabbed two interceptions in the Wildcats 69-0 win at Olivet Nazarene
- Recorded one tackle and one pass breakup in the win over the Tigers
- Earns his first career MSFA Defensive Player of the Week award
Special Teams Player of the Week
Carter Loveless, Taylor
Jr., P, Yorktown, Ind. (Yorktown HS)
- Placed all four punts inside the 20 during the Trojans' 67-35 road win over Kentucky Christian
- Averaged 44.0 yards per punt on the day
- Earns his first career MSFA Special Teams Player of the Week award
