Taylor sweeps Mideast League awards for second straight week
Off to a 3-0 start for the first time since 1999, the Taylor Trojans sweep the Mideast League Player of the Week awards for the second week in a row.
Offensive Player of the Week
Kyle Turanchick, Taylor
So., RB, Greentown, Ind. (Oak Hill HS)
- Rushed for a pair of TDs as Taylor defeated Judson 52-29
- Collected 81 rushing yards on seven attempts, averaging over 11 yards per carry
- Earns his first career MSFA Offensive Player of the Week award
Defensive Player of the Week
Aven Jones, Taylor
Sr., LB, New Palestine, Ind. (New Palestine HS)
- Finished with a team-high ten tackles in the Trojans' 52-29 win over Judson
- Recorded three solo tackles in the win
- Earns his third career MSFA Defensive Player of the Week award, and his second this season
Special Teams Player of the Week
Isaac Hoke, Taylor
Jr., K, Hamilton, Ohio (Talawanda HS)
- Was a perfect 2-for-2 on extra points and converted a 44-yard field goal in the win over Judson
- Averaged 59.0 yards per kickoff
- Earns his first career MSFA Player of the Week award
