Mideast League Players of the Week

A pair of first-timers add their names to the list of MSFA Mideast League Players of the Week, along with a title-clinching performance from Indiana Wesleyan.

Offensive Player of the Week
Xander Stokes, Indiana Wesleyan
Sr., QB, Anderson, Ind. (Anderson HS)

  • Threw for 265 yards and rushed for another 98 as No. 3 Indiana Wesleyan defeated No. 4 Marian, 42-40
  • Threw a pair of TD passes and rushed for another score in the win.
  • Earns his third career MSFA Offensive Player of the Week award, and his first this season

Defensive Player of the Week
Jayshawn Underwood, Marian
Jr., DB, Fort Wayne, Ind. (Snider HS)

  • Recovered a fumble and grabbed an interception for No. 4 Marian in the Knights' 42-40 loss to No. 3 Indiana Wesleyan
  • Finisehd with six tackles against the Wildcats' offense
  • Earns his first career MSFA Defensive Player of the Week award

Special Teams Player of the Week
Jonathan Harris, Taylor
Fr., KR/PR, Indianapolis, Ind. (Park Tudor HS)

  • Returned a kick 94 yards for a TD in Taylor's 41-37 loss at Lawrence Tech
  • Also blocked a punt, and had a 27-yard punt return
  • Earns his first career MSFA Special Teams Player of the Week award
