OFFENSE: Bamfield Harmon (Dallas, Texas), 6-2, 205, Jr., WR, Geneva … caught the game-winning 77-yard pass midway through the fourth quarter as Geneva rallied past Urbana 21-20 and its fifth straight victory that helped the Golden Tornadoes secure an NAIA playoff berth. Harmon has record 10 touchdowns during Geneva’s five-game winning streak.

 


DEFENSE: Paul Carter (Indianapolis, Ind.), 6-1, 193, Soph., DB, Saint Francis, Ind. … saved unbeaten Saint Francis when he returned an interception 100 yards for a touchdown in the Cougars’ 21-7 win. Walsh was on the USF 4 yard line, down 14-7, when Carter picked off the pass 4 yards deep in the end zone and recorded the TD with 1:58 left assuring USF its seventh consecutive MSFA Mideast League title. The theft was the third of the game, his second in the second half. His two INTs in the second half were returned for an MSFA record 133 yards as he became the third Cougar to snare 3 INTs in a game and the fourth player in MSFA history to return an INT 100 yds for a TD. He broke the USF record of 98 yards (Jason Coriano, Urbana, 1998). His 3 INTs also moved him into a tie for the league lead for INTs this season with 7. It is the second time in his career he has returned an INT for a TD.

OFFENSE: Daryle Jones (St. Louis, Mo.), 5-8, 200, Sr., RB, McKendree … ran for a season-high 131 yards on 19 carries as McKendree rallied past Trinity International 23-6 as the Bearcats finished the regular-season 8-2, garnered a share of the Midwest League title at 6-1 and advanced to the post-season for the fifth straight season. Jones, who became the first running back in school history to surpass 3,000 yards a week earlier against St. Ambrose, pushed his career total to 3,134 yards.

 


DEFENSE: Mike Harrison (Bloomington, Ill.), 5-9, 180, Jr., DB, McKendree … set a school record with a 99-yard interception return for a touchdown on the first play of the fourth quarter to help spark McKendree to a 23-6 come-from-behind win at Trinity International. It was Harrison's second INT return for a TD in 2005. His return effort topped Brent Baker's 95-yard INT return for a score in a 1998 game against Urbana. Harrison now has a team-high four interceptions. His TD accounted for the game-winning score and sealed the Bearcats' fifth consecutive trip to the NAIA Football Championship Series.

 


SPECIAL TEAMS: Shane Longest (Wilmington, Ill.), 5-10, 180, Soph., PK, Saint Xavier … Longest hit his two field goals at key points in the game as Saint Xavier posted a 48-20 victory over St. Francis, Ind., gained a share of the MSFA Midwest League title at 6-1 and earned the automatic berth to the NAIA playoffs. His 44-yard attempt sailed through the uprights as time expired in the first half to give SXU a 24-20 halftime advantage. Longest then connected on a 20-yard attempt with just less than six minutes left in the third quarter to give the Cougars a 21-point lead. He also averaged 56.0 yards on 8 kickoffs with three of his four touchbacks out of the end zone.

2005 MSFA Players of the Week

OFFENSE: Chris Bramell (Indianapolis, Ind.), 6-5, 235, Sr., QB, Saint Francis, Ind. … completed 19 of 28 passes for 319 yards with 3 TDs and 2 interceptions as No.2 Saint Francis handled Quincy 53-19 and clinched at least a share of its 7th straight Mideast League championship. Bramell also logged 8 rushes for 30 yards and a pair of scores. His TD passes went for 39, 14 and 30 yards and his rushing TDs came on runs of 19 and 10 yards, all in the first half. During one stretch he completed 8 straight passes, all for first downs, and completed 10 consecutive passes during another stretch that resulted in 9 first downs. His season-high 319 yards passing moves him into fifth all-time in the MSFA with 6,614 yards. He is within one yard of tying the USF record for consecutive starts at QB. He completed 18 passes for first downs and 16 of the aerials went for 10 yards or more.

 


DEFENSE: Greg Eberhart (Pittsburgh, Pa.), 5-10, 205, Soph., LB, Geneva … registered 5 solo tackles, 9 assists and an interception as Geneva held off Ohio Dominican 29-28 to improve to 7-3 on the year. He also forced a fumble and his interception came on the last pass of the game for Ohio Dominican.

 


SPECIAL TEAMS: Rob Lash (Shelby, Ohio), 5-11, 176, Soph., WR/KR, Walsh … had 4 punt returns for 71 yards, including a long of 70 yards, as the 14th-ranked Cavaliers knocked off No.24 Urbana 31-14. Lash was the No.1 kickoff returner in the NAIA a week ago, averaging 34.6 yards per return with 3 TDs. He was also No.5 in punt returns (12.3 avg., 2 TDs).

OFFENSE: Dominique Jones (St. Louis, Mo.), 5-10, 175, Jr., RB, McKendree … set a McKendree team record by scoring four touchdowns as the 10th-ranked Bearcats posted a 41-9 victory over No.9 St. Ambrose. Jones also tied a team record with 3 rushing TDs, scoring on runs of 5, 16 and 8 yards as well as catching a 31-yard scoring pass on his only reception of the game. Jones had 57 yards on 12 carries as part a McKendree running game which produced 341yards on the ground against the NAIA’s top rushing defense (65.5 ypg).

 


DEFENSE: Deveon Moss (Centralia, Ill.), 5-10, 205, Sr., LB, McKendree … recorded 7 solo tackles with 3 assists and, 2.5 sacks for a minus 15 yards in McKendree’s 41-9 win over No.9 St. Ambrose. Moss also had forced a fumble on one of his sacks to tie the Bearcats’ record with 8 forced fumbles. He led a McKendree defense that held St. Ambrose to 197 total yards after St. Ambrose entered the game ranked No.5 in the NAIA in scoring offense (36.8 ppg) and in total offense (454.8 ypg).

 


SPECIAL TEAMS: Nate Turnbull (Casper, Wyo.), 5-11, 160, Jr., PK, William Penn … converted one of two field goals … a 30-yarder … and was 3 of 4 in PATs as William Penn posted a 30-6 win over Trinity International to even its season record at 5-5. Turnbull now has a school-record 11 field goals on the year. He also had 6 kickoffs for 308 yards and a long of 63 yards.

OFFENSE: Matt Wehrle (Minooka, Ill.), 6-1, 185, Jr., WB, Quincy … helped engineer a 45-30 victory over 17th-ranked Urbana, giving Quincy its first-ever win over a nationally-ranked team since joining the MSFA. Wehrle was 14 of 25 passing for 160 yards with one interception and a 29-yard scoring TD pass. He also carried the ball 17 times for 47 yards and scored on a 3-yard run to help Hawks win their fourth straight home game this season.

 


DEFENSE: Montreal Wade (Medina, Ohio), 6-foot, 174, Jr., DB, Walsh … recorded two interceptions as No.14-ranked Walsh posted a 31-21 victory over No.16 Webber International, Fla. in a rare Thursday night game. Wade also had a pass breakup to go along with 3 solo tackles and an assist as the Cavaliers improved to 7-2 on the year.

OFFENSE: Jeff Kietzman (Eldridge, Iowa), 6-5, 205, Sr., QB, St. Ambrose … hit 23 of 36 passes for 431 yards with 2 interceptions and 6 touchdowns as St. Ambrose improved to 7-1 on the year with a 43-10 romp over William Penn. Kietzman also had 3 rushing attempts for 6 yards. His 6 TDs, which ties an MSFA Midwest League record, went for 65, 8, 35, 20, 72 and 7 yards. Kietzman also moved to No.2 on the SAU’s career TD list with 46 and to No.2 in career total yardage.

 


DEFENSE: Casey Weidenbacher (Naperville, Ill.), 6-foot, 200, Fr., DB, Saint Xavier … recorded 12 solo tackles with 1 assist and an interception as Saint Xavier beat crosstown rival Trinity International 55-21. His interception went for 3 yards as the Cougars improved to 7-2 on the year.

 


SPECIAL TEAMS: Jabari Woods (Alexandria, La.), 6-foot, 190, Soph., QB, Iowa Wesleyan … returned 2 punts for 99 yards, including one for a school-record 80 yards and a touchdown and had 2 kickoff returns for 95 yards, including an 84-yard return on the opening kickoff as Iowa Wesleyan won for third time this season by defeating St. Francis, Ill. 37-16.

OFFENSE: Brad Reifsnyder (Canton, Ohio), 6-1, 195, Jr., QB, Malone … completed 25 of 40 passes for 380 yards with 5 touchdowns and 2 interceptions as the Pioneers fell 42-34 to Urbana. Reifsnyder’s TD passes went for 40, 34, 1, 6 and 7 yards, while he also had 15 carries for 34 yards rushing.

 



DEFENSE: Frank Hernandez (Ambridge, Pa.), 6-2, 255, Sr., NG, Geneva … recorded 6 solo tackles and 10 assists with 1 tackle for a loss of 5 yards and a sack as Geneva stunned No.11-ranked Walsh 21-20 in overtime. Walsh was averaging 363.5 yards per game and Geneva held the Cavaliers to 292 total yards.

OFFENSE: James Jackson (Brockton, Mass.), 5-9, 215, Jr., RB, William Penn … rushed for a career-high 268 yards, tying a Mid-States Football Association record with 51 carries as William Penn held off Olivet Nazarene 31-24. Jackson’s carries also shattered the MSFA Mideast League record of 41 for a single game. He had touchdown runs of 5 and 54 yards, his second score helping WPU to build a 21-7 lead in the second quarter. Jackson now has 1,175 yards on the year and is 253 yards off the William Penn single-season record.

 


DEFENSE: Rick King (Tinley Park, Ill.), 6-1, 200, SR, LB, Saint Xavier … registered 10 solo tackles and 3 assists with 1 tackle for a loss of 3 yards as Saint Xavier defeated No.4-ranked St. Ambrose 38-31 in overtime, knocking the Fighting Bees from the undefeated ranks.

 


SPECIAL TEAMS: Shane Longest (Wilmington, Ill.), 5-10, 180, Soph., K, Saint Xavier … booted a 30-yard field goal and went 5 for 5 in PAT attempts as Saint Xavier stunned No.4 St. Ambrose 38-31 in overtime. Longest also had 5 kick offs for 274 yards and a long of 65.

OFFENSE: Chris Reisert (Cincinnati, Ohio), 6-2, 190, Fr., QB, Ohio Dominican … helped Ohio Domincan gain its first-ever Mid-States Football Association Mideast League victory, 27-13 over Malone by converted 28 of 42 passes for 338 yards and 4 TDs. He also had 42 yards rushing on 10 carries. Reisert’s TDs went for 31, 1, 6 and 15 yards as the Panthers rallied from a 13-0 deficit for their second win of the season.

 


DEFENSE: K.J. Johnson (Fort Wayne, Ind.), 6-foot, 184, Sr., LB, Saint Francis, Ind. … forced two turnovers to set up the second and third touchdowns for second-ranked Saint Francis in a 35-3 victory over No.16 Urbana. He picked off a screen pass at the Urbana 30, his third interception of the year, to set up USF’s second TD of the first quarter. Then in the third quarter, Johnson forced Urbana’s Luther Henderson to fumble on a first-and-10 at the USF 44. Johnson returned the fumble to the Urbana 49 and 3 plays later the Cougars scored for a commanding 21-3 lead.

 


SPECIAL TEAMS: Rob Lash (Shelby, Ohio), 5-11, 176, Soph., WR/KR, Walsh … had two returns for touchdowns as fourth-ranked Walsh won for the sixth time in seven games with a 45-14 romp over Taylor. Lash returned a kickoff 95 yards for a TD in the second quarter after Taylor had closed within 10-7. Then in the third quarter, Lash went 69 yards with a punt for his second TD on a return in the contest. He now has returned 3 kickoffs for scores and a pair of punts for touchdowns to become the first player in Mid-States Football Association to accomplish the feat.

OFFENSE: Nathan Endemano (Whittier, Calif.), 5-9, 180, S.r, WR, Trinity International … became the all-time leading receiver for Trinity International after he caught 12 passes for 202 yards and 3 touchdowns in the Tigers’ 42-7 victory over St. Francis, Ill. Endemano’s touchdowns covered 39, 6 and 14 yards as TIU built a 35-0 lead.

 


DEFENSE: Joey Lochner (Upland, Ind.), 6-foot, 175, Sr., FS, Olivet Nazarene … set a career high with three interceptions to help Olivet Nazarene upset No.5-ranked Saint Xavier 34-28. Lochner’s third interception in the end zone came with 2:08 remaining in the contest and ended a Saint Xavier drive. Lochner also registered 5 solo tackles.

 


SPECIAL TEAMS: Nate Turnbull (Casper, Wyo.), 5-11, 160, Jr., PK, William Penn … booted two more field goals to set a William Penn record with his eighth field goal of the season as the Statesmen fell 12-6 to 14th-ranked McKendree. Turnbull is now 8 of 9 field goals on the year. His long Saturday was 34 yards.

OFFENSE: Antwain Reine’ (Dayton, Ohio), 5-8, 188, Soph., TB, Walsh … carried 29 times for 204 yards as No.23-ranked Walsh posted a 31-26 victory over Quincy to improve to 5-1 overall and 2-0 in the Mideast League. Reine’ also had a 79-yard run with 1:44 left to get the Cavaliers out of a hole and ice the victory.

 


DEFENSE: Brian Kurtz (Fort Wayne, Ind.), 6-foot, 212, Jr., LB, Saint Francis, Ind. … first interception of the year and his 18-yard return along with a caused fumble at the opponents’ 32-yard line helped No.2-ranked Saint Francis build a 21-0 halftime lead and a 49-7 victory over Ohio Dominican. Kurtz also had a third down tackle on an ODU third-and-11 that led to a USF blocked punt another score and his tackle on third down forced Ohio Dominican into a fourth-and-5 at the USF 28 on the first possession of the second half. Overall, Kurtz had 6 solo tackles, 8 assists, an assist on a tackle for a loss and a pass breakup.

 


SPECIAL TEAMS: Matt Hausheer (Garden Ridge, Texas), 6-2, 215, Fr., PK, Urbana … converted 3 of 3 PATs and booted three field goals, covering 31, 37 and 41 yards as No.18-ranked Urbana posted a 30-17 win over Taylor to improve to 5-1 for the first time in school history. Hausheer accounted for 12 points and helped the Blue Knights move closer to achieve the school’s first plus .500 grid campaign. Urbana was 5-5 in both 1988 and 1998.

OFFENSE: James Jackson (Brockton, Mass.), 5-9, 215, Jr., RB, William Penn … recorded 35 carries for 222 yards and 3 touchdowns as William Penn evened its season record at 3-3 with a 42-28 victory over St. Francis, Ill. Jackson’s TDs came on runs of 3, 2 and 34 yards with the final tally coming with 42 seconds left in the game that provided a 42-21 lead.

 


DEFENSE: Erskine Jude (Milwaukee, Wis.), 6-2, 250, Sr., LB, Iowa Wesleyan … returned a fumble 28 yards for a touchdown as Iowa Wesleyan won a Homecoming game for the first time since 1996 with a 24-17 victory over Olivet Nazarene. The IWC defense forced eight turnovers and allowed 225 yards of total offense. Jude, who leads the MSFA in tackles, recorded 8 solo stops and 4 assists.

 


SPECIAL TEAMS: Nate Turnbull (Casper, Wyo.), 5-11, 160, Jr., PK, William Penn … booted field goals of 35, 25 and 34 yards as William Penn posted a 42-28 win over St. Francis, Ill. Turnbull also was 3-for-4 in extra points and recorded 8 kickoffs for 336 yards and a long of 61 yards. He is now 6 of 7 in field goal attempts this season.

OFFENSE: Matt Wehrle (Minooka, Ill.), 6-1, 185, Jr., QB, Quincy, Ill. … completed 20 of 32 passes for 228 yards, two interceptions and a touchdown in helping to rally Quincy to a 26-19 win over Taylor, Ind. in the opening MSFA Mideast League game for both teams. Wehrle was 12 of 21 passing in the first half, and went 8 of 11 in the third an fourth quarters for 119 yards. His 30-yard TD toss to Patrick Mays gave Quincy a 12-10 third-quarter lead and he added a 48-yard scoring run in the fourth period for a 23-12 lead. Wehrle had 10 carries for 34 yards on the day.

 


DEFENSE: K.J. Johnson (Fort Wayne, Ind.), 6-foot, 184, Sr., OLB, Saint Francis, Ind. … recorded 2 solo tackles, 4 assists with 1˝ tackles for a 6-yard loss along with a pair of interceptions in a 50-22 victory by No.2-ranked Saint Francis over Geneva, Pa. Johnson’s first interception of his career went for a 60-yard TD and then he returned another interception 19 yards in third quarter. He forced fouir quarterback hurries because of his blitzing action.

OFFENSE: John Perryman (Oak Lawn, Ill.), 6-2, 205, Sr., QB, Saint Xavier … completed 24 of 36 passes for 298 yards, an interception and a pair of touchdowns as sixth-ranked Saint Xavier opened MSFA Midwest League play with a 35-16 road victory over William Penn. Perrysman’s two TDs, covering 12 and 22 yards, produced a 13-6 SXU lead midway through the second quarter. He also capped off the day with a 13-yard scoring run and netted 13 yards in 6 carries in the game.

 


DEFENSE: Mike Harrison (Bloomington, Ill.), 5-9, 180, Jr., DB, McKendree, Ill. … recorded 4 solo tackles with 2 assists and an interception as McKendree registered its third straight shutout at Leemon Field this season, blanking Iowa Wesleyan in the opening MSFA Midwest League game for both teams. Harrison’s interception went for a 38-yard TD and he also returned 2 punts for 32 yards.

 


SPECIAL TEAMS: Sean Collins (Niles, Ill.), 5-11, 205, Jr., P, Saint Xavier … had only four punts on the day as No.6 Saint Xavier beat William Penn 35-16. But he had the most of the opportunities pinning William Penn inside its own 20 yard line on three of the four punts. Twice he put the ball at the WPU 1 yard line in the third quarter with one of them leading to a SXU safety.

OFFENSE: A.J. Owen (Cleveland Heights, Ohio), 6-foot, 170, Soph., WR, Malone … caught 5 passes for 107 yards and a pair of touchdowns to help the Pioneers win their first game of the season, 34-27 over St. Francis, Ill. in a MSFA crossover game.

Owens’ TDs were for 59 yards in the second quarter when Malone went ahead 20-10 and the team’s final score in the fourth quarter on a 5-pass reception. He also had 16 yards in 4 rushes.

 


DEFENSE: Jamie Holman (Fort Wayne, Ind.), 5-9, 185, Sr., SS, Saint Francis, Ind. … recorded 8 solo tackles with 9 assists, a pair of tackles for a loss and a pass breakup as No.2-ranked Saint Francis went to 3-0 with a 35-10 victory over Wisconsin-Eau Claire. UW-EC had controlled the ball for 22 of 28 plays in the third quarter before Holman’s bone-jarring tackle of Tyler Moy for a fumble. Paul Carte returned the fumble to the UW-EC 2 to set up the team’s fourth TD.

 


SPECIAL TEAMS: Zach Blair (Ambridge, Pa.), 6-foot, 185, Sr., P/PK, Geneva … recorded 8 punts for 388 yards, a long of 69 and averaging 48.5 per punt as Geneva fell 35-20 to 10th-ranked Saint Xavier to suffer its first loss of the season. OFFENSE: Andy Ricca (LaPorte, Ind.), 6-1, 200, Jr., WR, Saint Xavier … had 7 catches for 209 yards and a pair of touchdowns as No.10-ranked Saint Xavier turned back previously unbeaten and 11th-ranked Geneva 35-20. Ricca had both scoring receptions, covering 75 and 67 yards, in the first six minutes of the game. His 75-yard catch came on SXU’s first play from scrimmage and the 67-yard came on the third play of the Cougars’ next possession as Saint Xavier built a 28-7 first-quarter lead.


DEFENSE: Justin Thompson (Bettendorf, Iowa), 5-9, 160, Soph., CB, St. Ambrose … recorded a pair of interceptions as St. Ambrose allowed Taylor a first-quarter touchdown, but then pitched a shut out over the final three periods for a 56-7 romp. Thompson also had a solo tackle, 2 assists and a pass breakup.

 


SPECIAL TEAMS: Garrett Phillips (Indianapolis, Ind.), 5-7, 165, Fr., RB, William Penn … returned 5 kickoffs for 129 yards and a long of 46 yards helping set up William Penn en route to a 38-24 victory over Quincy as the Statesmen evened their record at 2-2. 2005 MSFA Players of the Week

 



OFFENSE: Chris Bramell (Indianapolis, Ind.), 6-5, 235, Sr., QB, Saint Francis, Ind. … threw a pin-point pass to Andy Papagiannis for the game-winning touchdown with 34 seconds left as second-ranked Saint Francis defeated No.6 McKendree 28-21. Earlier in the quarter, Bramell connected with Cory Jacquay on a 22-yard pass for a TD that tied the game at 21-21. Bramell ran for a crucial first down on fourth-and-2 at the McKendree 35 yard line in USF’s winning drive. Bramell also had a 4-yard TD in the second quarter. He passed for 7 first downs, rushed for 2 and had USF’s longest run from scrimmage, a 41-yard scamper. Bramell hit 12 of 24 passes for 130 yards, while rushing 13 times for 41 yards.

 


DEFENSE: Marcus Lewis (Lithonia, Ga.) , 6-3, 295, S.r, DL, Urbana … had 5 solo tackles, 4 tackles for a loss of 11 yards, a sack for a minus 2 yards, a quarterback pressure, blocked a kick and was part of an Urbana defense that limited Trinity International to 3.7 yards per play during a wild 39-31 win over the NO.12 Trojans.

 


SPECIAL TEAMS: Rob Lash (Shelby, Ohio), 5-11, 176, Soph., WR/KR, Walsh, Ohio … returned a kickoff a Walsh record 95 yards for a touchdown as the Cavaliers defeated No.22-ranked Olivet Nazarene 24-17 in a MSFA crossover encounter. Lash also returned a kickoff 91 yards and a touchdown a week earlier against Ohio Dominican.

DEFENSE: Rick King (Tinley Park, Ill.), 6-1, 200, Sr., LB, Saint Xavier, Ill. … recorded 3 solo tackles, 2 assists, 1˝ tackles for a loss of 5 yards, a half a sack, 1 interception and 2 pass breakups as No.14 Saint Xavier rolled to a 37-14 victory over Malone. The SXU defense allowed only one offensive TD.

 


SPECIAL TEAMS: Jarrod Nowman (Manteno, Ill.), 5-11, 195, Sr., WR, Saint Xavier, Ill. … returned 4 punts for 150 yards, including a 70-yard return for a TD in Saint Xavier’s 37-14 victory over Malone. His TD was the fourth of the second quarter as SXU bolted to a 34-0 lead. He earlier returned a punt for a TD, but that was nullified by a penalty.

OFFENSE: Brandon Nathan (West Mifflin, Pa.), 5-8, 180, Jr., RB, Geneva, Pa. … had 24 carries for 143 yards and caught a pass covering 17 yards as Geneva won its second straight game, defeating Bethel, Tenn. 20-14.

 


DEFENSE: Paul Carter (Indianapolis, Ind.), 6-1, 193, Soph., DB, Saint Francis, Ind. … recorded 5 solo tackles, 1 assist, 2 interceptions and a pass breakup as Saint Francis opened its 2005 campaign with a huge 42-10 victory over NCAA I-AA Indiana State. His first interception helped the Cougars maintain an early momentum and his second set up a USF scoring drive that led to a fourth-quarter TD with 11:06 left that extended the team’s lead to 35-10.

 


SPECIAL TEAMS: Zach Blair (Ambridge, Pa.), 6-0, 185, Sr., P-PK, Geneva, Pa. … booted a career-best 50-yard field goal and added a 32-yarder to make the difference in the Golden Tornadoes’ 20-14 victory over Bethel, Tenn. He added a pair of PATs to finish with 8 points as well as registering 4 punts for an average of 45.8 and a long of 62 yards. He also fielded a botched snap and ran for a first down to help continue a third-quarter drive by Geneva.

The effort comes on the heels of a 259-yard, 3-touchdown performance a week earlier against in-state rival Waldorf, Iowa.

 


DEFENSE: Freddy Arcaina (San Diego, Calif.), 5-11, 185, Sr., LB, Iowa Wesleyan … recorded 3 solo tackles with 6 assists and had 2.5 tackles for a loss of 13 yards, a sack, recovered a fumble and had two quarterback hurries as Iowa Wesleyan registered its first shutout in 10 years, blanking Cornell, Iowa 13-0.

 


SPECIAL TEAMS: Nick Heberer (Washington, Ill.), 5-11, 199, Fr., P/PK, St. Francis, Ill. … set a school record with 4 field goals made in 4 attempts, including the game-winning boot from 44 yards with 51 seconds remaining in a 19-16 victory over Urbana, Ohio. His other field goals covered distances of 22, 32 and 32 yards. Three of his kickoffs went for touchbacks and he had one punt hit inside the 20-yard line. He also had a PAT.

OFFENSE: Mark Minnix (Hilliard, Ohio), 6-3, 2205, Sr., WR, Ohio Dominican … registered 8 catches for 89 yards and a 9-yard touchdown pass as Ohio Dominican outscored Campbellsville, Ky. 49-33 to record its first win in school history. The Panthers were 0-10 in their first year of football in 2004.


DEFENSE: Michael Wright (Rockville, Md.), 5-9, 160, Fr., DB, Ohio Dominican … recorded 3 solo tackles and 2 assists along with a 39-yard interception as the Panthers beat Campbellsville 49-33 for their first win in school history.

SPECIAL TEAMS: Matt Hausheer (Garden Ridge, Texas), 6-2, 225, Fr., PK, Urbana … Hausheer hit 2 field goals, one from 37 yards out with 16 seconds left in the first half, giving Urbana a 9-7 lead at halftime en route to a 28-27 win over Seton Hill, Pa. His second was a 42-yard field goal with 5:39 remaining in the game, giving Urbana a 28-21 lead. Hausheer also hit 2-of-3 PATs. Hausheer's 42-yard field goal is 2 yards shy of the school record set by Brad Levell in 1987.

OFFENSE: John Perryman (Oak Lawn, Ill.), 6-2, 205, Sr., QB, Saint Xavier, Ill. … completed 26 of 31 passes for 218 yards and 3 touchdowns as Saint Xavier stunned Northwest Oklahoma State 21-7. His TD passes went 15 and 42 yards in the first half and then a 10-yard complete for a score early in the fourth quarter. He also had 9 carries for 15 yards.

DEFENSE: Sean Kenney (Palos Hills, Ill.), 5-10, 127, Soph., LB, Saint Xavier, Ill. … recorded 9 solo tackles and 1 assist with a tackle for a loss of 1 yard as the Cougars upset No.8-ranked Northwest Oklahoma State 21-7. Kenney also had a fumble recovery as Saint Xavier forced NWOSU into four turnovers.

SPECIAL TEAMS: Adam Clapp (Oakland, Ill.), 5-9, 180, Jr., DB, McKendree, Ill. … First career kickoff return resulted in an 82-yard touchdown run on the opening kickoff of the second half as McKendree blanked Quincy, Ill. 44-0. Clapp, who returned two punts for TDs in 2004, is the first player in McKendree history with a TD on both a punt and kickoff return. Along with 1 punt return for 10 yards, Clapp also had 7 tackles on defense.
