GLENDALE, Ariz. - Trinity International cornerback Jarell Carter signed a contract with the Arizona Cardinals on Monday, joining the NFL squad in the midst of training camp and leading into the team's first preseason game this week.
Carter finished his four-year career at TIU last fall, where he was a two-time NCCAA All-American, and twice earned All-MSFA Midwest League honors. The Houston, Tex. native is 8th on Trinity's all-time interceptions list, and led the team last season with three picks on the year. By signing with the Cardinals, Carter becomes the first Trojan to join an NFL training camp since nine-year NFL veteran Karl Hankton (1998-06).
The Cardinals are scheduled to face Dallas in the Hall of Fame game in Canton, Ohio on Thursday, which will be televised nationally on NBC.
