Sioux Falls, S.D. - Despite 13 catches for 116 receiving yards and a touchdown by junior Mike Maher (Plainfield, Ill./Providence Catholic), the No. 4 ranked Saint Xavier University football team could not slow down defending national champion and No. 1 ranked University of Sioux Falls (S.D.) and fell 48-6 Saturday at the USF Sanford Health Complex in Sioux Falls, S.D. USF scored 41 unanswered points over the first three quarters of play before SXU notched its first score. The Cougars end their historic season at 13-1 overall.

"We ran into a buzzsaw today and they are going to be tough for any team at our level to beat," said Saint Xavier University football coach Mike Feminis. "Our guys played their hearts out today and had a memorable season. I am so proud of each and every one of them and I hope they realize what a special group of young men they are."

Top performers for the Cougars Saturday included junior receiver Xavier Torres (Chicago, Ill./Central Michigan University/Lane Tech) and junior quarterback Anthony Kropp (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East). Torres finished with 12 catches for 103 yards, while Kropp completed 31 of his 61 pass attempts for 230 passing yards, including a touchdown and two interceptions. Defensively, the Cougars were led by junior defensive back Drew Rogowski (Griffith, Ind./Griffith) with nine total tackles, including seven solo stops.
